Lighting Control & Automation

Smart Home Integration

Lutron lighting control, motorized shades, and keypad scenes — engineered at the panel and woven into the automation platform your designers and AV integrators have specified.

The Electrical Backbone of a Smart Home

Automation only feels effortless when the wiring beneath it is exact.

A great control system is invisible: one press dims the great room, lowers the shades, and warms the light to candle temperature — all at once, every time. That reliability is not software. It is neutral wiring at every box, properly sized loads, clean line conditioning, and a panel laid out so a processor and its keypads are never an afterthought.

We build that foundation. As certified Lutron installers, we engineer RA3 and HomeWorks systems from the rough-in forward, then hand a clean, documented network to your automation partner for programming — or program the lighting ourselves when the scope is ours.

What's Included

A control layer for every room
that matters.

Lutron Lighting Control

RA3 for refined homes and HomeWorks QSX for full estates — dimming and switching for every load, from the foyer chandelier to the closet LED tape.

Motorized & Automated Shades

Roller, Roman, and drapery tracks with whisper-quiet motors, wired or battery, scheduled to the sun and tied into the same scenes as the light.

Engraved Keypads

Tasteful, designer-selected keypads replacing walls of toggles — engraved with the scenes the household actually uses, placed where the hand expects them.

Tunable & Warm-Dim Light

Color temperature that shifts from energizing daylight to amber evening, and fixtures that warm as they dim — circadian-aware light, programmed to the day.

Scenes & Automation

Welcome, Entertain, Goodnight, Away — multi-system scenes that orchestrate light, shades, and climate in a single command across the home.

App & Voice Control

Discreet phone and tablet control, voice where it's wanted, and remote access — secured, networked, and tested before the family ever touches it.

Working With Your Integrators

We are the trade your automation team wants on site.

Most luxury homes run on Control4, Savant, or Crestron, programmed by a specialist AV integrator. The electrician they dread is the one who buries junction boxes, mislabels home-runs, and leaves no neutral for a dimmer. We are the opposite: we read the integrator's drawings, pull the conductors and Cat6 they need, and deliver a panel and head-end they can commission on the first visit.

  • Coordinated rough-in to AV, low-voltage, and shade-motor schedules
  • Lutron systems pre-addressed and fully documented for handoff
  • Clean, conditioned power and dedicated circuits for the rack and head-end
  • Neutral at every device location — no integrator left guessing

How It Comes Together

From specified to switched on.

We join the project alongside the architect, lighting designer, and AV integrator — early enough to influence box placement, late enough to honor every final selection.

Our full process

Plan & Coordinate

We reconcile the lighting plan, shade schedule, and integrator's network design into one buildable set of drawings.

Rough-In & Wire

Loads, neutrals, keypad boxes, and control cabling pulled to exact locations and labeled for the head-end.

Trim & Address

Keypads, dimmers, and shade motors installed, the Lutron system addressed, and every device verified.

Commission & Tune

Scenes programmed or handed to your integrator, levels dialed to the designer's intent, and the family walked through it.

★★★★★
"Our programming visits used to mean a week of chasing missing neutrals and mystery home-runs. With A. Wood, the Lutron processor came up clean and labeled on day one. They're the only electrician we ask to be on our projects."
