Our Studio

A small studio of master electricians, obsessed with the unseen.

We are not a volume contractor. We are a deliberately small practice that takes on a limited number of estate projects each year — and finishes every one to a standard we are proud to put our name on.

Aaron WoodFounder & Master Electrician
The Founding

Begun in 2009, on a single conviction.

A. Wood Electric began in 2009, when Aaron Wood walked off a beautifully built hillside home and realized the electrical work behind its walls would never live up to the architecture in front of them. Crooked cans, mismatched color temperatures, a panel no one would ever be proud to open. He had spent a decade as a journeyman and foreman on large residential crews, and he knew the difference between competent and exceptional was almost never about skill — it was about care.

So he started a studio built around that care. The premise was simple and uncompromising: a master electrician on every project, documentation worthy of the architecture, and crews disciplined enough to work invisibly inside occupied luxury homes. Fifteen years later, that premise has not changed. It has only been refined.

Today Aaron still walks every site, reviews every panel schedule, and signs off on every commissioning. The studio has grown, but never past the point where his hand leaves the work.

What Guides Us

Six principles we will not
negotiate away.

Craftsmanship

Switch legs land where the hand expects them. Cans align to the millimeter. We treat the inside of a wall with the same respect a cabinetmaker gives a drawer no one will open.

Discretion

Our crews are trained to work inside occupied estates without leaving a trace. Quiet, tidy, respectful of household and staff, and bound by the confidentiality our clients expect.

Documentation

Every project leaves with as-builts, labeled panel schedules, and a record of what lives behind each wall — so the next person to open it understands exactly what we did and why.

Partnership

We work almost exclusively through builders, architects, and designers. We protect their schedule, defer to their vision, and make them look good at the final walkthrough.

Safety

We build above code, not to it. Surge protection, proper grounding, balanced loads, and immaculate terminations are how we protect the home and everyone inside it for decades.

Stewardship

We specify efficient fixtures, right-size systems, and design for longevity — because the most sustainable electrical work is the kind that never needs to be torn out and redone.

Credentials

Licensed, bonded, insured — and trained well past the minimum.

Credentials are the price of entry, not the point. But they matter on a project of consequence, and ours are current, complete, and verifiable. Behind every one is a crew we vet personally and continue to train on the code that governs the work we do.

Request our documentation
  • CA C-10 Electrical Contractor — License #919247, in good standing
  • Fully bonded and insured, with certificates available on request
  • Ongoing code training as the California Electrical Code evolves
  • Background-checked crews, screened for work in occupied luxury homes
  • Manufacturer certifications for the generator and control systems we install
How We're Different

We measure ourselves by what you never have to think about.

Most electrical contractors are judged by what goes wrong — the callback, the tripped breaker, the dimmer that buzzes. We would rather be judged by the absence of all of it. A home we have wired simply works: the light is consistent, the power is silent, the panel is a pleasure to open, and years pass without a single service call.

That outcome is not luck. It is the result of joining a project early, designing before we wire, documenting as we go, and refusing to leave until the systems behave exactly as the designer intended. It is slower and more deliberate than the industry norm — and it is the only way we are willing to work.
